2023 Service Changes

September

Service changes may include modifications to frequency, schedules, trip times, routing or stop locations. COTA modifies service three times per year on the first Monday of January, May and September.

Public Meetings

To ensure all those within our communities have an opportunity to understand the decisions we make at COTA and provide input, we conduct a number of meetings throughout the year and encourage the public to attend.

1 Kenny/Livingston

Upcoming construction impacts

Due to the construction of a new women’s center at the Ohio Health Riverside Hospital, Line 1 to Riverside Hospital will be rerouted to Ohio Health Parkway beginning July 2023. Passengers impacted by this change should use the temporary end of line stop on Ohio Health Parkway.

Line 1 to Sawmill & Bethel will be unaffected by this change.

4 Indianola/Lockbourne

Routing change

In order to provide a simple, more direct route to and from Alum Creek Drive, COTA is proposing to remove service from Venice Dr, Weirton Rd, and Fairwood Ave south of Watkins Rd. Instead, Line 4 would remain on Watkins Rd in both directions.

Customers impacted by this change are encouraged to use COTA//Plus South Side. COTA//Plus South Side operates from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Learn more by visiting COTA.com/cotaplus.

8 Karl/S High/Parsons

Routing change on Ohio State University campus

Based on feedback from the Ohio State University, COTA is proposing to realign Lines 8, 22 and 31 from W 12th Avenue. Instead, Lines 8, 22 and 31 would use W 11th Avenue. Stops on W 12th Avenue would permanently close. New stops would be placed along W 11th Ave and W 12th Ave.

22 OSU/Rickenbacker Indianola/Lockbourne

Routing change on Ohio State University campus

Based on feedback from the Ohio State University, COTA is proposing to realign Lines 8, 22 and 31 from W 12th Avenue. Instead, Lines 8, 22 and 31 would use W 11th Avenue. Stops on W 12th Avenue would permanently close. New stops would be placed along W 11th Ave and W 12th Ave.

31 Hudson

Routing change on Ohio State University campus

Based on feedback from the Ohio State University, COTA is proposing to realign Lines 8, 22 and 31 from W 12th Avenue. Instead, Lines 8, 22 and 31 would use W 11th Avenue. Stops on W 12th Avenue would permanently close. New stops would be placed along W 11th Ave and W 12th Ave.

35 Dublin-Granville

Restoring service

Based on passenger feedback, COTA is proposing to restore Line 35 Dublin-Granville. The line would operate every 60 minutes between Boardwalk St & Shapter Ave and Easton Transit Center. Line 35 would operate express, nonstop, all-day service from Easton to New Albany.

This change is contingent on the elimination of the COTA//Plus Northeast On-Demand zone.

COTA//Plus Northeast On-Demand Zone

Eliminating service

COTA is proposing to discontinue the Northeast On-Demand zone. The Northeast On-Demand zone launched during the pandemic to provide service to passengers impacted by suspended fixed-route service in parts of northeast Columbus, Gahanna, Westerville and New Albany. All other lines have since been restored.

This change is contingent on the restoration of Line 35 Dublin-Granville.

Zoo Bus

Extending Zoo Bus service to Halloween!

Zoo Bus service would operate Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only beginning Friday, Sept. 8 through Halloween Oct. 31.
