New Hire Orientation

Intended Audience: All New Hires

Description: Our new hire orientation welcomes all new employees to COTA. COTA’s new employees will learn how they play an important role to COTA’s success. They will be informed on COTA’s policies, learn about COTA services, and understand the many benefits to joining COTA.

Objectives: Understand COTA’s mission, vision and 5-year strategic plan. Understand COTA’s history and where COTA is heading as an organization. Recognize COTA’s leadership team and their responsibilities. Understand COTA’s safety policies. Receive COTA’s compliance training: Ethics, Sexual Harassment, and Public Records. Introduce new employees to COTA’s insurance benefits and important deadlines. Introduce new employees to COTA’s tuition reimbursement program. Understand COTA’s payroll schedule and get an introduction to accessing payroll information on My Employee Space

Introduction to Learning & Development

Intended Audience: All COTA Employees

Description: Learning & Development is an essential part of our professional and personal goal achievements. This training gives you a look at how we, at COTA, seek to partner with you as you continue to grow professionally and personally.

Objectives: Explain the necessity of continuing education. Highlight the L&D offerings both in-house and for degree advancement (Organizational Training, Workforce Development, etc).

Everything DiSC

Intended Audience: All Admin Employees

Description: Everything DiSC® is a personal development learning experience that measures preferences and tendencies based on the DiSC® model. This simple yet powerful model describes four basic styles: D, i, S, and C, and serves as the foundation for the Everything DiSC Application Suite. Participants receive personalized insights that deepen their understanding of self and others, making workplace interactions more enjoyable and effective.

Objectives: Identify your DiSC style, priorities and shading, as well as your motivators and stressors. Overview of the DiSC styles, how you react to each, and strategies to improve your effectiveness. Tips and suggestions for improving your working relationships with everyone in your organization

Crucial Conversations

Intended Audience: All COTA Employees

Description: Crucial Conversations are conversations with high stakes, different opinions and where emotions can get heated. In these situations we are often not at our best and often exhibit flight and/or fight behavior. Crucial Conversations teaches you a structured approach with 9 skills to emerge stronger together from these difficult conversations. Important themes are breaking free of prejudices, psychological safety, common interest, respect, trust, openness, honesty and how to communicate this by using the skillset.

Intended Audience: COTA Managers/Leaders

Description: Influencer Training is a leadership course that teaches proven strategies to drive rapid and sustainable behavior change for teams and organizations. By learning how to discover and counteract the complex web of forces underlying resistant organizational problems, you’ll be able to make change inevitable.

Description: Composing professional emails is a daily occurrence that impacts our organization. By ensuring all emails are professional and courteous, we can be sure that our intended message is read and understood. This course includes time to practice what is being taught.

How to Create a Professional PowerPoint

Description: PowerPoint presentations are a wonderful way to delivery information with clarity. In this course, we will learn the basics of developing a powerful PowerPoint presentation using COTA colors and templates. This course includes time to practice what is being taught.

Objectives: Identify how to use the COTA template for PowerPoints. Choose the correct COTA colors and fonts for your PowerPoint. Understand the proper use of colors and white spacing to make the most impact with your PowerPoint presentation

Presentation Skills 101

Description: In this course, you will learn how to become an effective presenter. By learning how to interact with your audience, and improve your presence, you will be able to deliver your presentations with poise and power.

Description: Today’s teams are different from the teams of the past: They’re far more diverse, dispersed, digital, and dynamic (with frequent changes in membership). But while teams face new hurdles, their success still hinges on a core set of fundamentals for group collaboration and teamwork. This course will define teamwork and collaboration, benefits of teamwork and collaboration, and improving teamwork and collaboration.
